Obituary for LESLIE JONES
Leslie Jones was born to the late Hance and Magnolia Jones, on July 5, 1930. Leslie Jones was better known as " Les", "Pistol Pete", "Bozo'', "Pitch Fork", "Pete'', "Shot Gun" and "The King of Ponds Wood Road", by his family and friends. Leslie departed this life, October 17, 2015, after a long illness.

Leslie was educated in the public schools of Calvert County.

Leslie married the late Alice Marie Rice and from this union they were blessed with 5 children, Ronald, Sr., Dorinda, George, Todd, and Emma.

Leslie worked for Blake Construction Company for several years. Upon leaving Blake Construction Company, Les continued working in the tobacco fields and on farms to provide for his family.

Leslie truly enjoyed his family. He enjoyed dancing and family gatherings. You could drive past Ponds Wood Road and see him sitting under the tree with family and friends listening to good music and talking to relatives. He was known for his famous sayings such as, "Be mines tonight, I wanna be like Dynamite", "Drop the bomb ", "Look out for the small man!", "YOOOUUULLL!" and many more.

“The King” leaves to cherish our sons: Leslie, Jr., Ronald, Sr. (Edith), George "Ricky" (Dolly), and Todd Jones; two daughters, Dorinda (Eugene) Foote and Emma Claggett; eight grandchildren, Ronald, Jr. (Sherry), Damian (Harmony), Jermaine (Heather), and Jason (Tricia) Jones, Donte (Deceased), and Von (Leticia) Foote, Shante (Elliott) Freeland, and Nakida Claggett; 14 great-grandchildren, Keonna, Noah, Shyra, Caleb, Isabella, Chloe and Donte Jones, Zanae, Elliott, Jr., and Aasya Freeland, Devonte and Jayden Foote, Kweli Mackall, and Destiny Johnson; three brothers, George (Claire), Carroll (Gloria), and Vernon (Sylvia) Jones; special friends, Ricardo Booth and Troye, (Twanda) Reid, and Vaughn Reid, Jr.; siblings, Sidney and Dorothy Jones and Vivian Brown preceded him in rest.
