Obituary for MARY ELIZABETH WILLETT
Mary Elizabeth Willett was born to the late Charles Harris & Hattie Parker on August 7, 1925 in Calvert County Maryland. She attended the public schools of Calvert County. Later she married John Leroy Willett, Sr.
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, stepped from earth to glory on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 10:36 pm at Calvert Health Medical Center in Prince Frederick, Maryland.
Elizabeth was a thoughtful and loving person. She always dressed with pizazz. And she always put her immediate family and her adopted family first, which included the neighborhood children in Adelina.
Elizabeth worked for many years at the Oyster House, Calvert Memorial Hospital, Surrey Inn, the School Board, and the Naval Weapons Center.
Elizabeth was a dedicated member of Carroll Western United Methodist Church until her health prevented her from attending services. She loved the Lord, her pastor Roland Barnes, and church family very much. Her favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm. She was an usher for many years. She sang on the choir, and with the Southern Maryland Echoes. Her favorite song was "Your Grace & Mercy Brought Me Through."
Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memories: her four children, John, Jr., Alphonso, Sr. (Jackie), Mary, and Geraldine (John, Sr.); eight grandchildren, Ebony (James), Ronnell, Sheena (Abuwi), John, Jr., John, Cartier, Sr. (Shante), Ciara, and Alphonso, Jr.; nine greatgrandchildren, Jayde, Endia, Semaj, Cartier, Jr., Amani, Carver, Jayla, Layonna, and Ca'Ron; three sisters-in-law, Gertrude Willett, Loretta Willett, and Estelle Willett; and Goddaughter, Jackie Seales. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
