GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Steven-Darryl Mackall better known as Steve was born May 7, 1963, in Prince Frederick, Maryland. He was the youngest son of the Deacon Clarence and Missionary Virginia (Parker) Mackall. He attended the Public schools in Prince Frederick, MD.
Steve's chosen one, Ann and their daughter, Stearea and stepsons lived in Washington, DC for over 20 years. He loved spending time with them. He loved kids! Stearea, the only girl was his heart and they shared a very close relationship.
He was self-employed as a carpenter and provided well for his family. His mentor and longtime friend, the late Jack Dubose was an inspiration to him and taught him everything he knew in the carpentry field. In exchange, Steve taught and nurtured those working with him and giving guidance to them. He wanted them to understand that there are no free hand-outs in life. But through hard work and perseverance they could make it. He was regularly called upon by family, friends, and anyone that needed his services. Yes, Steven had a gentle spirit and a big heart and always was available to help anyone who needed him - the word no was not in his vocabulary.
Steven loved his family and was there for them. When his Mom was in the hospital he was
found right there at her bedside feeding her and making sure she was well taken care. He was
also there for his father during his illness. The family could always count him. He was regularly
visited by his nephew, Brad Mackall they shared a kindred spirit.
He was a very determined person, but you could reason with him and of course he would be
quick with his sense of humor. He was forever the jokester making everyone laugh. He was
known for his cooking skills on the grill and considered himself a grill-master. He also boasted
about his culinary skills which included roasting a pig, ribs, deer, steaks and anything else
that could be cooked on a grill. He had a great love for basketball and loved challenging his
nephews and younger ones to a game.
Steven was baptized in the name of Jesus at an early age under the Late Bishop Henry Brown
while living in Prince Frederick. He was a member of Bibleway Church and visited his parents
church.
He leaves to cherish his memory of his beloved Ann, his daughter, Stearea, stepsons Edward
Crook, James Crook, Brandon Crook and Alberto Crook of Washington, DC., Clarence and
Virginia Mackall (Parents), Clarence Mackall, Jr. (Shirley) of Lusby MD, Albertlee Mackall
