Obituary for SHERMAN M. CARTER, SR.
Sherman McDaniel Carter, Sr.born on September 27, 1949 to the late Herman A. Carter, Sr. and the late Martha F. Carter in Calvert County, Maryland.
He attended Calvert County Public Schools. He also, attended two years of Jr. College and served two terms in the Vietnam War.
He worked several years in District of Columbia Government at the Copy Company as a Supervisor. He was a devoted Sunday School Teacher at Mt. Hope UMC.
Sherman enjoyed his life to the fullest. He was always the life of the party and was known for his great sense of humor. He loved entertaining family and friends at his home and was a true diehard Redskin fan. If you know Sherman you had to love him. Two words to describe him were "crazy" and "funny ". He will be truly missed by everyone who loved him.
Sherman leaves to cherish his memories, his sons, Sherman M. Carter, Jr. and Christopher Carter, Sr.; two grandchildren; Christopher Carter, Jr. and Asia Carter; one brother; Gregory D. Carter; one adopted sister, Felicia "Elaine" Clayton - Proctor; one brother- in- law, Mark Proctor; one niece, Elicia T. Clayton; one nephew, Joseph A Cooper; God daughter, Felicia Jones; two aunts, Audrey Freeman and Julia Lacey; one uncle, Irving Long, a host of relatives and friends.
