Obituary for BURNETT CLARK
On Sunday, August 31, 2014, Burnett Clark was unexpectedly called home to be with the LORD. Burnett was a native of Pulaski, Virginia, and was born to the late Annie Garner Clark and Isaiah Clark on Saturday, November 13, 1937. Burnett was one of seven children, comprised of 2 girls and 5 boys. He is survived by his older brother Joe Clark, who currently resides in Winfield, Kansas.

During his youth, Burnett attended public schools in Pulaski and later enlisted in consecutive tours in both the U.S. Army and the Air Force upon graduation from high school. After proudly serving in the military, Burnett’s journey eventually led him to Washington, DC where he began a successful 36 year career with The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (METRO). Burnett held many positions during his career, to include Station Manager, Train Operator, and most notably Bus Operator, and was affectionately known to many of his co-workers and friends on the job as “Booby”.

In addition to being a hard working METRO employee, Burnett was a devoted husband to the love of his life Shirley A. Clark, and a devoted and loving father to his children B.C. (Helen), Sandy, Barry, Tyran (Keia), Chris (Chanele), and Jermaine (Mercedes). Burnett also leaves to cherish his memories a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
