Obituary for ROLAND M. LANCASTER, SR.
Mr. Roland Monroe Lancaster Sr., departed this life at Genesis Nursing Home in Waldorf, MD, on Saturday, May 26th, 2018. after a lengthy Illness.
Roland was Born on August 15th, 1953, in Prince Georges County, Maryland, to the Late William and Pinkey Lancaster, He was an only child raised among many children. Roland was educated in the Prince Georges County Public and Private School system and graduated with honors and received a full scholarship to Texas State University. After college Roland was enlisted in the United States Army and Army Intelligence. After completing his time in the Service Roland was employed with the University of Maryland College Park as an Electrical Engineer until his health failed.
Roland grew up in a very loving and spiritual family and attended Bible Way Church under the pastorateship of the late Bishop Henry Brown. But it was not until later in his life that He was baptized in Jesus name at Solid Rock Church COOLJC by the late Elder Alton Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pinkey, He leaves to cherish his memories 3 sons: Damien, Mark and Roland Jr. (Alisha), 6 grandchildren, Myare, Janiya, Jeremiah, Makaya, Maniya and Makhi, one living maternal uncle, James Harrod (Bertha), and one great aunt, Magie Rice.
