Obituary for CARROLL DEXTER WILLS
Carroll Dexter Wills was born on February 20, 1956 to the late Leroy Charles Wills Sr. and Yvonne Janice Mason Wills in Calvert County, MD. He departed this life suddenly on May 23, 2013. Carroll, known by many as 'Star' and 'Starchild', was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was educated in the public schools of Calvert County, MD and graduated from Calvert High School in 1974. He played basketball and ran track in High School. Carroll’s passion...God, family and iron work. He became a member of the Iron Workers Local Union No. 5 in 1980. On April 20, 2013, he received his 30 year service pen. When you're an ironworker, the sky is the limit. There was no limit to the ironwork performed by 'Star'! He assisted with some big projects including a roller coaster at Six Flags America and a big airplane hangar at the Patuxent River Naval Base. In his early years, he enjoyed riding his green/black Super Guy Motorcycle and racing his father’s Confusion Black Power Express. Carroll enjoyed visiting family and friends, listening to old music and having fun. He was known for giving everyone a nickname and wearing his signature bandanas. As a people’s person he met friends wherever he went. 'Starchild' lived his life to the fullest. He was the 'Star' of any and all gatherings…..he didn’t know a stranger…..he befriended everyone. Carroll was preceded in death by his son Travon DeVell Wills; his father Leroy Wills Sr.; 6 uncles: John, James, Kenneth and Everett Wills, Howard Mason and Paul Prout; and 4 aunts: Doris Tyler, Mary Francis Thomas, Helen and Vivian Wills . Carroll leaves to cherish his memories 3 children: Carole Ann Wills, Cameron Dexter Wills and Mikeal Musgrove; 2 grandsons: Devon Malik Rhones and Zaire Kenneth Morgan; mother: Yvonne Janice Wills; 2 brothers: Alvin (Paulette) Wills Sr. and Leroy (Lynn) Wills Jr.; 3 sisters: Evangeline Wills, Barbara (Oliver) Smith and Lisa Wills; 3 uncles: Robert Wills, Gary Mason and Enoch Tyler; 4 aunts: Mattie Prout, Shirley Wills, Ephonia Wills, Lillian Wills and Annie Mae Mason; 1 Great Aunt Elizabeth Wills; 5 nieces; 4 nephews; 5 great nieces; 6 great nephews; 1 great great niece and a host of loving cousins, family and friends. He also leaves a special friend Yvette Calcote.
