Obituary for KENNETH LEROY OWENS
Kenneth Leroy Owens the beloved son of the late Bertha M. Owens and Julius M. Boots Sr. was born on June 28, 1957 in Calvert County Maryland.Kenneth affectionately known as" Kenny" to his family and "Boots" to his friends transitioned from this life on Friday April 29, 2011 at his home in Baltimore Maryland.Kenny was educated in the Baltimore Public School System. He moved to Calvert County Maryland where he worked as a labor doing construction work. In 1990 he relocated back to Baltimore Maryland where he had several part-time occupations to include ABC Rentals, Smitty Cut-Rite and Broadway Services.Kenny attended Martini Lutheran Church, under the leadership of Rev. Elliott M. Robertson. He was the oldest of seven children. Kenny enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His children and grand children were the joy of his life. Kenny was a very compassionate, gentle and kind person, always willing to help others.He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Lotoyea Ford; two sons, Corey and Donavon Harrod; three grandchildren, A'laysia and Aliyah Ford; and Dajiontae Harrod; five sisters, Carolyn, and Linda Owens, Wanda Coates, Brenda McDowell, and Janice Foote; one brother, Wesley Owens; three aunts, Frances Willett, Pauline Jones, and Delores Harrod; one uncle, James Thomas; son-in- law, Tony Ford; brother-in-law, William Foote; five nieces, six nephews, twelve great nieces, and nephews; special cousin, Gloria Jean Chisley; special friend, Vicki Godfrey; and a host of special relatives and friends.
