Obituary for Lucille Elizabeth Jones

On Thursday December 20, 2007, Lucille Elizabeth (Scott) Jones entered quietly into the presence of the Lord at the age of ninety-one years old.   She lived a long and prosperous life.
Lucille  was born on July 17, 1916 in Baltimore, Maryland to Allison and Leila Scott. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Dorothy, Margaret, Leila, Thelma, Hortense and two brothers, Paul and James.
Lucille Scott was married to Kinsey N. Jones, Sr. (Deceased) for forty-four years. She was a loving and devoted mother to her one daughter and four sons. Lucille E. Jones leaves to cherish her memory, sons Kinsey N. Jones, Jr., Thomas W. Jones (Linda), daughter Victoria E. Hodge (Roland-Deceased), and sons James R. Jones (Gail) and Timothy E. Jones 12 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Early in life, she confessed a faith in Jesus Christ and was a member to both Coopers United Methodist and Mt. Hope United Methodist Churches. She enjoyed singing in the choir and participated in various organizations in both churches.  Lucille was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, making quilts, jigsaw puzzles and taking care of her many grandchildren. She took pleasure in and enjoyed visiting family in Baltimore, Church trips, picnics and started the Willing Workers Club where she taught the value of doing good deeds to her own and other neighborhood children. In her later years, she attended Friendly Day Care Center where she further enjoyed day trips in addition to coloring, painting, crafts and prizes she won while playing games with her fellow Day Care Center friends. In October 2006, Lucille entered Calvert County Nursing Home where she continued to enjoy her many activities which enlighten her days as well as their friendly staff and others who resided at the center.
