GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Pernell Renwick Mackall was born on July 11, 1966 to Elmore L. Mackall, Sr. and the late Florence Lucille Mackall. He departed this life for his eternal resting place on December 30, 2017, at the University of Maryland Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Pernell graduated from Calvert Senior High School in Prince Frederick, Maryland, in May 1984. He loved spending time with his family and friends; and was an avid sports fan. Pernell played baseball for Calvert County Parks & Recreation and for the Lynch Mob softball team. His love for football was contagious; Pernell was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.
Pernell was very proud of his sons and always wanted them to do their best. Watching his sons play at his high school alma mater made him proud. Pernell heard the call of the Lord and was baptized at Mt. Gethsemane Holiness Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Watts.
He loved working with his hands and acquired skills in construction and landscaping. Pernell worked with several companies until his health prevented him from doing so. Although his health prevented him from doing what he loved, he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a master story teller and loved making people laugh.
Pernell leaves to cherish fond memories, his children, Branden and Jamal Mackall, his father Elmore L. Mackall, Sr., one brother Elmore Mackall, Jr., Prince Frederick, MD; seven sisters, Brenda Coby, Lusby MD; Deborah Mackall, Cheltenham, MD; Bridget Mackall, Waldorf, MD; Belva Mackall, Prince Frederick, MD; Jacqueline Mackall, Prince Frederick, MD; Myra Mackall, Lanham, MD; and Sharon Mackall, East Elmhurst, NY; three nephews, Merle Harris Jr., Jemiah Harris, and William Greene; three nieces, Antiqua Stewart, Rachel Greene and Sharece Mackall-Alvarez; two great nephews, Jameyon Greene and Jemiah Harris, Jr.; and a great niece, Shalaysia Greene.
He also leaves his two uncles and aunts Chester Mackall (Annie) and Clarence Mackall (Virginia); devoted cousins Claude Brooks III, Sheldon Willett and Clinton Mackall; close friends Sidney Gross, Roland Plater and William (Bill) Hill; and a host of other family members and friends. Pernell was preceded in death by his mother, Florence L. Mackall; grandparents, Arthur and Estelle King; Ollie and Sophie Smith.
