Obituary for CHARLES DAVID METLER
Our beloved Charles “Chick” Metler, 69, peacefully departed this life on February 19, 2022 from complications of Acute Myeloid Leukemia at University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore.

Chick was born on February 25, 1952, to the late Boyd and Genevieve Metler. He grew up in Prince George’s County. There he met the love of his life, Donna Hunter Metler. They were joined in holy matrimony on February 16, 1974.

They moved to Calvert County in 1982 and resided in Huntingtown before moving to St. Leonard. Chick worked at Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power for 36 years as an electrician.

Chick enjoyed hanging with his family. He loved watching his granddaughters play softball and track and field. He volunteered at Calvert Health Medical Center and St. Leonard Elementary School. He was a die-hard Washington Redskins fan. He also enjoyed building and racing skipjacks with the Solomons Island Model Boat Club.

Cherished memories of Chick will be kept by his loving wife Donna, daughter Jennifer and her husband Eric Curran, of St. Leonard, MD and granddaughters Amanda and Nicole Curran. He was looking forward to becoming the grandfather-in-law to Kyle Berberian. He loved hanging out with his brother-in-law Doug boating, learning to fly miniature airplanes, and sailing their skipjacks. He is also survived by 5 brothers, 2 sisters and many other family and friends.

Donations in Chick’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society or Calvert Animal Welfare League.
