Jeremiah graduated from William Sampson Brooks High School. After high school, Jeremiah briefly attended the University Maryland Eastern Shore. Upon his departure from college, he went into the Army.
On January 24, 1953, he was united in Holy Matrimony with North Victoria Thompson. Their union was blessed with one daughter, Laveeta Maria.
Jeremiah was employed as a boat builder (Cruise Along Boats), a store cashier (A&P Grocery Store), and a carpenter (Calvert Cliffs, Giant Grocery Store as well as many other union jobs). He was also a businessman. Jeremiah owned and drove school buses. He has had a contract with the Calvert County Public Schools since 1971.
Later, Jeremiah married Nancy Jones on September 21, 2019. Not only was Nancy his wife but she was also his caregiver. Nancy brought to the marriage her two children, Paul (Dana) Jones and June Jones, and two grandchildren, Dominique and Amani.
Jeremiah leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Nancy, his daughter, Laveeta, two grandchildren, Kyrstin (Wayne) Wainwright and Jereme (Alyssa) Brown, four great grandchildren, Noah, Eden, Jonah and Johanna Wainwright, bus drivers Jennifer Barnes, Patricia Lee, Michelle Parrott, Jennifer Richards and Coretta Savoy, special friends, Karl Bowen, Harry Gray, Jimmy Green, Billy Keely, Penny Mahdi and Doris Stepney and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Florence Johnson, his wife, North, and siblings, Dorothy, Saonia and Everette.
