George Leo Christian was born September 27, 1955, to the late Calvin Freeland and the late Patricia Ann Christian-Latimore. George grew up in Prince George’s County, Maryland and was raised by his grandmother Elizabeth Christian (deceased).
George was educated in Prince George’s County public schools. After high school George joined the U.S. Army in 1979. George was employed by Prince George’s County Health Department in Cheverly, MD for 23 years as a Lab Tech in the Laboratory Administration.
George was a humble, quiet, gentle, and caring person. He never complained about anything; he enjoyed life to the fullest and would do whatever he could for any and everyone. He was also a faithful Redskins (WFT) fan.
George was preceded in death by his parents Calvin Freeland and Patricia Ann Christian-Latimore; grandparents Vernon and Elizabeth Christian; one sister Rhonda Lynn Clark.
George was united in holy matrimony to Carolyn Gray-Christian on August 19, 1989, for 31 years.
George leaves to cherish his memories wife Carolyn; two children Cavin and Nicole; stepmother Thelma Freeland; stepfather Samuel Latimore; three grandchildren Jay’Vine, Zoei, and Maliah; two sisters Regina Brown and Ruth Thomas; one brother Gregory Freeland; godfather George Stubbs (Uncle Sonny); three sisters-in-law Louise Simms, Marrion Gray, and Roberta Giles (Melvin); four brother-in-law Eugene (Olivia), William (Joyce), John (Deborah), Richard (Fanta) Gray; two uncles Alonzo Christian and Charles Stubbs; three aunts Rita Barber, Romaine Lucas and Phyllis Colclough; life-long friends Gene Gray, Gene Plater, and William Lake, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his beloved dog Drama.
