Obituary for LAMOND CEDRICK HAWKINS
Lamond Cedrick Hawkins of Huntingtown, Maryland was born on September 21, 1976 to the parents of Charles David Hawkins, Sr. and Joyce Althea Giles Hawkins. He was called home to rest suddenly on September 14, 2020.
He attended Huntingtown Elementary and graduated from Northern High School in 1994. He attended Tesst College from 1995 thru 1997 to become an Information Technology Technician. Lamond was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ in 2008. Lamond worked with his dad at C&J Contractors Roofing Company which he was being groomed to take over the family business whenever his dad decided to retire. He enjoyed working with the guys joking around with them. They really thought a lot of him. Lamond enjoyed detailing cars and making them look like they came off the showroom floor. He was an avid sports fan enjoying basketball and football. ESPN was the only thing he watched at home. He would call his brother Charles, Jr. and ask him what team he liked so he could go bet on that team. His favorite team was the Lakers. He enjoyed watching WrestleMania with his son Cedrick.
Lamond loved his two sons Cedrick and Kyle to the utmost. When they were younger, he had season tickets to six flags. Lamond loved the water more than they did. Lamond enjoyed hanging with his boys on Kent Road in Sunderland where there were big block parties and plenty of food and drinks. Lamond loved teasing and joking with everybody. He was like a big brother to everyone. He had a smile that lit up a room, and he will be truly and sorely missed by everyone.
Lamond leaves to cherish his memories, his parents Charles and Joyce Hawkins; his life-long partner Charvon Creek; two sons Cedrick, and Kyle Hawkins; two brothers Charles Jr. and Sean Hawkins; one sister-in-law Aricka Hawkins and Grandmother Margaret Giles. He also leaves eight Aunts Odessa Hall, Roberta and Stephanie Giles, Shirley, Peggy, Bonnie, Cynthia and Suzette Hawkins; five uncles Melvin Jr., Dwight, and Rodney Giles, Melvin and Floyd Hawkins; one niece Alyssa Hawkins; two nephews Aaron and Conner Hawkins; his bonus mom and dad Clifton and Paulette Creek; a bonus sister Leah Reynolds; Evette Griffin who loved Lamond like a son. Also left to cherish his memory are Lamond's long-time friends Earl (Lil Smoke) Griffin, godson Tylik Griffin, David Holland, Gerrell Sharpe, Shelton Brown, Robert Tyler, Dewayne Wilkerson, Kyle Emerson; and a host of relatives and friends.
Lamond was preceded in death by his two grandfathers Melvin Giles, Sr., and Overton Hawkins; grandmother Mary Hawkins; great grandparents Joshua and Mary Rose Giles; one aunt Ivon Brooks and four uncles Wilson, Overton, Carton Hawkins and William (Billy) Brooks.
