Be the first to share your favorite memory, photo or story of LILLIAN. This memorial page is dedicated for family, friends and future generations to celebrate the life of their loved one.
We ask on behalf of the family that you keep your comments uplifting and appropriate to help all who come here to find comfort and healing.
Lillian Elizabeth Ford Adams (affectionately known as “Miss Lillie”) was born on June 6, 1925 in Dunkirk, Maryland to the late Alexander and Juanita Ford. She was the third of 11 siblings, loving sisters Ruth, Hattie (Reggie), Emma, Estelle (Robert), Helen and Thelma; and brothers, Alexander, Gant, Edward, Archie and George.
Lillian was united in holy matrimony to Lemuel Adams on March 25, 1946. This union was blessed with four children, Ardelia Nelson, Bertina Cleveland (Vincent), Alvin and Anna Adams; two special daughters-at heart, Rosemary (Lawrence) and Paula. Her extended blessings included five grandchildren, Priscilla, Pierre (Mika), Rodney, Gina (Joseph) and Kevin; five great grandchildren, D’Andre, Dajon, Mikayla, Gabrielle and Genesis; and 4 four-legged pets, Coco, Sheba, Diamond and Carmela.
Lillian was one of the sweetest, kindest, humble, and most spiritual women of God. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Lillian was the matriarch of the family. She loved the Lord and even through her failing health remained faithful to God and His word. Her favorite scriptures are “The Lord is my Shepherd (Psalms 23)” and “The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6: 9-13).” Lillian often expressed her desire to be with the Lord and would say, “I’m just waiting on you Lord; I want to go home.”
Lillian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her son, her sisters: Helen and Thelma, and her brothers.
Lillian leaves to cherish her memories, sisters, children, son-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren; best friends, Dorothy Smith, Dorothy Adams, and Frances Evans; goddaughter, Muffin; her church family, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
God has you in His loving care and we will always have you in our hearts.
