Obituary for JOCELYN HOLLAND
Jocelyn Marie Holland was born on October 20, 1961 to the late Eugene and Ernestine Holland.
Jocelyn attended Calvert County Public schools where she completed her education in 1979. She valued time spent helping in her community and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Gray-Ray Post No. 220 of Prince Frederick, MD.
Jocelyn started her career at Cassie's Cafe and then worked at Solomon's Nursing Home. She began a second career in retail and worked at Wal-Mart for eighteen years. Jocelyn had a love for people and provided quality customer service. She greeted everyone with her affectionate smile that brightened the day of her co-workers and customers. She will be greatly missed by all.
Jocelyn was a true sports fan and watched hours of basketball and football. She could also be found spending endless hours reading books. She would read an entire novel in one day. Jocelyn also cherished the time that she spent getting her nails done with bright colors and the latest designs.
Jocelyn's love for her family will live on through her nieces and nephews. She truly adored them as her own. She enjoyed spending time with her younger cousins and looked forward to having a good time.
Jocelyn was called home on February 18, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Ernestine Holland; brothers Kevin Holland and Wade Holland, and niece Kendra Thomas. She leaves to cherish her memories sister Deborah R. Holland; nieces Kristin and Kimberly Brooks; nephews Calvin Holland and Traven Hawkins; sister-in-law, Marsha Mayberry-Holland; aunt Rose Holland; uncles, Gene (Catherine) Long, Elmer Mackall, James Wallace and Elder Robert Watts and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.
