Obituary for BERNARD ARONZO YOUNG
Bernard Aronzo Young, (aka Bunny) made his presence known to the world on September 8, 1969 at Calvert Hospital in Prince Frederick, Maryland. He is the son of Bernard C. Young and Deborah Hutchins Johnson. As a young child, Bunny was the center of attention and remained that way throughout his life because of his friendly ways and his knack for telling a story.
On December 7, 2016 his journey ended in this life as he quickly transitioned to be with the Lord.
Bernard was educated in the public school system of Calvert County. He was a graduate of the Calvert High Class of 1987. Bernard earned his certification as a welder at the Calvert Vocational Center during high school.
Bernard was no stranger to hard work. At a young age he maintained the Sheridan Point property of Mr. Tate of Prince Frederick, MD, doing landscaping and tree pruning. He was also employed at a local shoe store. Bernard worked for more than 20 years for Calvert County Government at as welder and maintenance worker at the Highway Maintenance division. Later utilizing his welding skills, he secured a job in Virginia, and in the Washington, D.C. areas. Bernard was a member of Local Union Iron Workers # 5 and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners.
As a child, Bernard attended Carroll-Western UMC, and as an adult, he was baptized at Greater Bible Way Church in Prince Frederick, MD.
Recently, he and his wife, Dawn began their fellowship as constituent members at St. John UMC in Lusby, MD, singing on the Men`s Choir.
Bernard is the proud father of two children; son, Tobias Young, an up and coming actor; and daughter, Connie H. Young, a 2016 graduate of Great Mills High School.
The great outdoors seemed to always call his name because Bernard’s hobbies included motor cycle riding, camping, and grilling. On any given event, you would find him at the grill... family reunions, picnics, campgrounds, or wherever he was asked or needed. The annual camping event called Buck Buck was all he would talk about, because Bernard really enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones each year. Bernard loved watching the Cooking Channel, and of course the Dallas Cowboys football games.
On April 28, 2016, Bernard married his true love, Dawn Hazelton.
Bernard leaves to cherish fond memories his loving and devoted wife, Dawn Hazelton Young; son, Tobias Young; step-son, Daishon Barnes; daughter, Connie Young; step-daughter, Nyasia Barnes; mother, Deborah Hutchins Johnson (Brad); father, Bernard C. Young; brother, Brandon Young (Tracey); brother-in-law, Raleigh Dickerson; grandmother, Frances C. Hutchins; God-mother, Diane Moore Simmons; special friends, Malcolm (Lil- Mack) Beverly, Jr., Anthony Jacks, William Hutchins, Barry Porch, Archie Johnson (Fireball); special uncle and friend, Phillip Hutchins; all the guys at the Juke Joint; and numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Bernard, you will truly be missed by everyone who loves you or called you their friend. God only takes the best, so He called you home.
