William T. Moore, Jr. was born August 3, 1959, to William T. Moore Sr. and Gladys Ellen Moore. William transitioned from this life on October 16, 2023.
William was educated in the Baltimore school system. He graduated in 1977 from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. He also earned a computer technology certificate from Control Data Institute. He worked at Penril DataComm Networks, Inc. in the early 1980s. He also was employed at Cray Research and Aberdeen Proving Grounds in the late 1980s and early 1990s, laying the first fiber optic lines.
William also worked for North American Van Lines. He liked to say he hit every state in the contiguous United States working with Van Lines.
He was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, Lusby, Md.
William was an athlete, playing organized basketball and football well into his thirties. He could go toe-toe with any chef. He was a master at taking leftovers and turning them into delicious meals.
He was very charming. He loved working on newspaper crossword puzzles and word search books. He was also good at trivia.
He is survived by his son, William T. Moore III, and his wife, Monica, of Upper Marlboro, Md.; brother, Steve Johnson of Baltimore; granddaughter, Carolyn Moore of Lusby, Md.; great-grandson Syir Proctor; aunts, uncles, and a host of other relatives and friends.
