Obituary for WILLIAM E. COBY
William Ellsworth Coby was born on March 12, 1953 to the late. Ellsworth Coby and late Evelyn Gross, who was married to the late William Gross, they raised him along with his 6 siblings.
William was educated in the Calvert County Public School System.
William was affectionately called Lil William by family. He enjoyed attending Calvary United Church, where he was baptized in Jesus Name. He enjoyed reading his bible, and would greet family or strangers with 'Praise the Lord' and a big smile. He enjoyed watching old movies, and hanging out with his ace buddies: Charles Gross Jr., Richard Hawkins, and other buddies.
After school, he worked for Washburn Ship Yard, Calvert County Highway Administration and various other jobs.
William was joined in Holy Matrimony to Brenda Mackall. Their union was blessed with three children, daughter Antiqua Stewart, daughter Rachel Greene, and son William Jr., also two grandchildren, granddaughter Shirlaysia and grandson Jameyon.
William was preceded in death by his father, Ellsworth Coby; his mother, Evelyn Gross; his step father, William Gross; his brother-in-law, Milton Plater; and niece Shanik Plater.
William leaves to cherish fond memories with his wife Brenda Mackall, his daughters Antiqua and Rachel, his son William Coby Jr., his 2 grandchildren Shirlaysia and Jameyon. Siblings: Carol Jean Hall, Barbara Reed, Amos, Clifton, Bertha, Phillip, Evelyn and Mandel. In Laws: Charles, Charlate, Christine, James, Jackie and Shirley, and a host of relatives and friends.
