Obituary for WILFORD MACKALL, JR.

Wilford Mackall Jr., 61, of Capitol Heights, MD passed away on September 25, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Prince Frederick, MD on July 5, 1950 to Betty (Chew) Mackall and the late Harry Wilford Mackall. Wilford was known to many as "Jr.". He was the 3rd oldest of fifteen children. He received his education in the Calvert County public school system. At the age of 16, he gave his life to Christ and at age 17 he was water baptized at the House of Prayer, Church of God, in Lithium, MD under the leadership of Bishop Owens. From 1974 to 1985 he was married to his 1st wife, Lavern and out of that union two beautiful children, Terry and Rochelle were born. In 1997, Jr. was united in marriage to Sandy Burton until his death. Jr. was a family man and hard working. His loyal employment career included various jobs throughout the Maryland, Washington, DC and Delaware areas. He eventually moved his residence to Dover, DE where he lived and worked for 12 years. During his employment career, he acquired various trades with several companies; Giant Food Corporation, Springhill Lake Pharmacy, Accu-Staff, PH. D Best Inc., Nestle' Ice Cream and the Hutch Staff. Jr. loved his children, Terry (meat head), Rochelle (puddin face) and his grandchildren Terral, Teonna and Sarina (the rug rats). He took great pleasure in spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed eating at restaurants. For many of us, his smile and excellent character to many will live on. Jr. was known for his, "Get er Done" attitude. He would not leave a stone unturned. His wisdom and knowledge, he shared with many will always be cherished greatly in our hearts. Jr. loved the Lord with all his heart! Serving God was number 1 in his book. The love for the word of God was in him. He would often make reference to his favorite story in the Holy Bible: "The woman with the issue of blood". And as we listened and joined in with him as he sung the songs of Zion. Some of his favorites were: This Little Light of Mine, Blessed Assurance, We Will Understand it Better By and By, What a Friend We Have in Jesus and Because He Lives, I Can Face Tomorrow. His voice of praise unto God set the church on fire. No matter what church he visited, when Jr. stood up to speak, you knew Jr. was in the house of God. If we could hear Wilford (Jr.) now, he would say, "Good Soul! I made it in!" Wilford Jr. was preceded in death by his Grandmothers, the late Rosie Mackall and the late Daisy Chew, his father, Harry Wilford Mackall, brother-in-law Collin Dent and nephew Lindale Thomas, great niece Brianna Dorsey.
