Obituary for VIOLA EILENE MACKALL

Viola Eileen Mackall was born on March 17, 1943 to the late Florence Matilda & Herman Morsell. She quietly made her transition the morning of December 9, 2019 at Washington Hospital Center.

She received her education here in Calvert and loved her family dearly. Viola met and married her husband for life, Wilson Mackall at a young age. They were married for 50+ years and from that union they have two sons. They shared their lives together in Huntingtown, Maryland where Viola worked as a supervisor for Calvert Headstart for many years and Rod & Reel. She retired in 2008, but really never stopped working until she became ill. Her husband was a master bricklayer and with the help of friends and family built his own home. Her firstborn son Cordell is known for his expertise in landscaping, and her youngest son Garry is a master electrician. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and having input in their lives.

Viola was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed the ability to make her own suits and other clothing, especially for church. Her ability to sew allowed her to even take up a few suits for her sister in-law Minnie. Minnie would tell her it was better than what the cleaners could do. She was a woman who loved God, and her love for God led her to share the gospel with her nieces who came to know God because of their aunt boldness for the Lord Jesus Christ. Her grand and great grandchildren was her secret medicine of joy. She enjoyed their visits and private conversations, especially the granddaughters. She also loved quartet gospel music. Lee Williams was one of her favorites, and if you took time to listen, she could tell you everything about him.

When Viola became ill, she could always count on the presence of her IDENTICAL TWIN, Iola. Whether in the hospital or at home, Iola was there for her sister until the very end. Cordell and Garry could always count on their aunt Iola looking out for her sister. This does not take anything from her other siblings, or friends it's just that the love and support of family, when you are down and out is a rare thing in these days.

Today, Viola Mackall life is celebrated by her family. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Wilson Mackall, 2 sons, Cordell Mackall and Garry Mackall, 4 sisters, Margaret Gray, Iola Smith (Anthony), Sylvia Morsell Proctor, Fannie Gray, 1 brother, Maurice Morsell, 2 Granddaughters Wendy and LaToya,1 grandson, Garry Jr. 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandsons, 1 great-grand daughter, 1 great-great grandson, 1 sister in-law, Minnie Stepney; 2 brother in-laws, Kenneth Mackall (Tammy), Frederick Mackall (Alice)and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends.
