Obituary for VINCENT SWALES, JR.
Vincent McWilliams Swales, Jr. (Little Junior aka Dickey Boy) of Baltimore, Maryland died unexpectedly and peacefully in Sinai Hospital on June 15th in Baltimore, at the age of 55.
Vincent is survived by his mother Hester Irene Swales of Leonardtown, wife Pamella Medley Swales of Baltimore, daughter Tarisha Swales, granddaughter Deidre Price and step son Christopher Kent all of Baltimore, sisters Evelyn Holland, Hollywood, MD, Cheryl White (Conrad), Prince Frederick, MD, Gertrude Thomas (Victor), Leonardtown, MD, brother William Francis Swales (Bess), Baltimore, MD , In-laws Junius Mac Baker (Valencia), Gwedolyn McClery (Nathaniel), Lydia Seibles (Ully), Linda Burnett (Charles) and Michael Baker as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Vincent McWilliams Swales, Sr. (Mr. Mack).
Affectionately known to many as Little Junior, Vincent was born in Leonardtown, MD to Mack and Irene Swales on October 23rd, 1962. He grew into manhood on McIntosh Road. He graduated from Leonardtown High School in 1980. Vincent married Pamella Medley on May 29th, 1999 in Baltimore, MD. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Vincent had lifelong love of baseball, much like his father. Throughout his life he worked a variety of jobs from carpenter to his final career as a Design Engineer for Phoenix Engineering for the past 13 years. Vincent was a veteran of life and served faithfully in the Army of the Lord. He has now been awarded his golden crown and long white robe for his good and faithful service.
Viewing will be from 11-12 on Friday, June 22nd at Zion Hill Church of God in Christ, 12450 H. G. Trueman Road, Lusby, Maryland. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Vincent’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all of you for celebrating the life of our Father, Son, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Brother-in-law and Grandfather. Please know that you all played a part in the dash of his life.
