Obituary for SHAWN LINWOOD BROWN

Shawn Linwood Brown was born to the proud parents of Jacqueline Riggs Hawkins and Irving Linwood Brown on July 7, 1979. He graduated from Calvert High School in 1997. After high school Shawn moved to Baltimore, Maryland to attend RETS Technical Electronic School and majored in Heating and Air Conditioning/HVAC. Shawn was promoted to a job working for BG&E Homes where he worked in the field of HVAC for 16 years. In 1999 is when he met and dated Kenisha Jackson. June 12, 2005 they become united as one. During the marriage, they had Taliya Kiyoka Brown on November 22, 2006. He then worked in Iraq for two years as a supervisor in the field of HVAC for contractor KBR. After returning from Iraq, he then fathered his second child, Jakiya Nell Brown on February 8, 2013. Three weeks after Jakiya was born, Shawn was diagnosis with Advanced Stage 4 Lung Cancer and began to undergo chemotherapy and radiation. He fought the battle of lung cancer for 14 months. Shawn accepted God in his life at a very young age and was baptized February 9, 2014. He ended his battle to cancer and went to glory on April 7, 2014.

Shawn had a beautiful smile and big brown eyes that made him so loveable. He enjoys telling jokes, fishing, modeling, bowling, shooting pool, and playing darts. He enjoys surprising his wife especially on holidays and special occasions with flowers, fruits, gifts, dinner, and etc. He also enjoys spending quality times with his children by taking them to the park, riding bikes, and playing in the snow. He loved playing basketball and watching wrestling. Shawn was loved by so many and they were touched by his wonderful sense of humor.

Shawn is survived by: wife,Kenisha Kiyoko Jackson Brown; daughters, Taliya and Jakiya Brown; mother, Jacqueline Riggs Hawkins; step-father, John E. Hawkins, Sr.; father, Irving Linwood Brown; sister, Renee Nicole Brown and step-sister, Tysheria Hawkins; step-brother, John E. Hawkins, Jr.; baby brother, Elijah Kelly Anderson; grandparents, Lowell and Regina Riggs, and Violet "Mae" Campbell; mother-in-law, Sheila Jackson; and father-in-law, Nelson and Sheri Jackson, sister-in-law, Keyonia Jackson, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, Godchildren, and friends.

He is proceeded by the late Ethel M. Riggs, grandmother; late Irving Linwood Brown Jr., grandfather; the late Lionel James and Lyle Jameson Riggs, and Nelson Jackson Ill, uncles, and others family members.
