Obituary for Robert Edward Jones, Sr.

Robert Edward Jones, Sr., 56, of Owings, MD passed away on July 9, 2009 Washington, DC. He was born on April 20, 1953 in Prince Frederick, MD to Lambertine Jones and the late Mabel Jones.
Robert became a member of Ward's Memorial United Methodist Church on August 8, 1999. In his adult life, he was baptized by Elder Daniel Jones.
Robert, known to all as Snootz, was educated in the Public Schools of Calvert County. He spent his entire career as a plumber. Although he never obtained a license, he was known as one of the best plumbers in the Metropolitan area. He always guaranteed his work. He was an encouragement and teacher to his two nephews, Jamar and Darrell as they obtained their plumbing license.
During his career, Snootz was employed by several plumbing companies, including the family business of Jones and Wood. He has been employed by hundreds of private individuals. Plumbing was what he did and he was the best at it. When he needed assistance with his jobs, he did not hesitate to call on family members.
Snootz was a family man. He loved his sons and grandchildren. He had a deep love for his mother and they are now rejoined. If you had not seen him for a while, you could expect a call asking how you were and that he loved you.
Snootz leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Robert, Jr. and Lavan Jones and Marquise Porter; father, Lambertine Jones; six siblings, Diane (Tyrone) King, Delores, Helen, Lambertine, Jr., Ellis (Dolores), and Linda Jones; eleven grandchildren; Brie Bailey, Destiny, Robert III, LaVan, Jr. Jones, Devon and Sontia Porter, Devin Wells, Kalaya Hodges, Londoun and Ardejuh Davis, Sammy Bowman; three future daughters-in-Iaw, Janile Berry, Tameka Davis and Starr Miller; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
