Obituary for Raymond Anthony Riddick

Raymond Ra Anthony Riddick, son of the late William and Agnes Riddick, was born July 18th, 1954 in Manhattan, NY. Raymond was called home for eternal rest on April 11th, 2008.
Raymond graduated from Cardinal Hayes HS in 1972. Afterwards, Raymond became the Projects Officer for the Catholic Relief Services, a branch of the US Catholic Conference and Government relief projects, where he researched and monitored socio-economic development projects in Vietnam, Cambodia, Ghana and Sudan. Raymond graduated from St. Marys Seminary and University with a Philosophy and Religious Studies degree in 1980, he was Commissioned as a Officer from the United States Air Force Reserve in1984, and also graduated from the Washington Theological Union with a Masters in Divinity in 1991. Raymond also studied at Portland State University, the Franciscan School of Theology, St. Patricks Seminary and St. Josephs Seminary.

Raymonds professional career included stints as a Second Lieutenant Chaplin in the US Air Force Reserve, Diocesan Special Projects Assistant for the Roman Catholic Episcopal Corporation in Yellowknife-North West Territories Canada, Black Catholic Affairs Coordinator for the Archdiocese of San Francisco, Vatican assignment as the Regional Director for the Pontifical Mission for Palestine in Jordon and Iraq, and finally the most dear to his heart as the Religion and Ethics Teacher at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, which brought him great joy.

Raymond is survived by his older brother, Kenneth Riddick, New York, NY and sister-in-law Delores McBride, New York, NY; one nephew Kiesean Riddick, New York; 5 aunts: Constantavilla Mozell, of New York, NY; Alverta Buck, Lusby, Maryland; Marnett Stewart, Lusby, Maryland and Ruth Blake, Lusby, Maryland; 2 uncles: Thomas Gray, Lusby, Maryland and Andrew Stewart, Lusby, Maryland, and a host of cousins, friends and loved ones.
