Ruby C Penn was born on August 2, 1931 to the late Agnes H Newell and Grady Newell in Greenville, South Carolina.
Our gracious Heavenly Father with His compassionate mercy called for Ruby C Penn His servant of many years to Eternal rest on Thursday, October 6, 2016.
At an early age Ruby accepted Jesus Christ, as her personal Lord and Savior and in her later years she joined New Bethany Baptist Church, were she served faithfully on the usher board. Ruby was an outstanding member of New Bethany Baptist Church and very loyal and faithful to her Pastor until the time of her death.
Ruby received her education in Washington, DC where she graduated from Cardozo High school.
Ruby was united in Holy Matrimony to her loving and devoted husband Charles Penn, on October 27, 1971. She enjoyed spending time with him and they were deeply in love with each other. This year would have been 45 years of happy matrimony, and even with her death she was very committed to Him and God.
Ruby worked for the Federal Government for 47 years with the Department of Housing and Urban and Development. She received many rewards for her service. Her family was there to keep her company and brought her joy to her heart. Ruby will be greatly missed, but God’s will was done and He knew the way for us when He called for her to come home.
Ruby leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted and loyal husband, Charles Penn, a daughter Renee Yvette Hunter, a son Dennis Edward Carroll (Deceased) a step daughter Julia, a long time friend she treated as a daughter Patricia Phillips.
