Obituary for RUBY C. NEELY

My Life
Ruby Corethia Neely, born to the late John Julius Parran and Mary Geneva Hicks-Parran, on September 8, 1944 in Prince Frederick, MD. I attended Calvert County Public School and graduated in 1962 from Douglas High School of Baltimore, MD.
In 1968, I was joined in holy matrimony to John R Neely, Sr. from this union one son was born (Jay) who along with my daughter Ramona (who preceded me in death) were the love of my life.
For 28 years I worked for the "Baltimore Sun" newspaper and was blessed to retire in 2006.
At a young age, I became a member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church and worshiped there until moving to Baltimore.
I enjoyed my life in Calvert County, Baltimore and Virginia Beach, which is where I relocated to in June of 2009, wanting to spend time with my family whom I truly loved. Thanks Jay, Kelly, Tre and Me Me (Jakel) for allowing me comfort during my final earthly days.
Oh, did I tell you how I enjoyed my family coming to visit me around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday, it was truly a priceless send off. So thank you Walter & Jill, Roberta, Natasha, Joan, David, Marie, Letitia, Van (my twin), and Clarice. You all really made me happy when you came to visit.
I had a wonderful life under the sun and on the morning of December 30, 2009 I breathed my last breath and what belonged to God, God took.
I leave to cherish memories of me: my beloved son, John R. Neely, Jr. and his wonderful wife Kelly; eight grandchildren, Donnell, Danielle, Daniel, Pia Michelle, John Jr., Shamara, John III (Tre), Jakel; two great-grandchildren, Ja' Tayvion, Daniel III; five brothers, Walter (Jill), Wilson (Roberta), Oliver (Ava), John (Nellie), Richard (Gladys-deceased); two sisters, June Parran, Catherine Adams, another sister-in-law, Gladys Marie Parran, one aunt, Irene Parran, a very special friend Trudy and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Preceding me in death are Ramona (my daughter) and siblings; Hortense Wilson, John (Olandus) and Charles Parran.
