Obituary for ROXY GALE BROWN

An old Chinese proverb says, "Don't listen to what they say go see…”

Roxy traveled extensively in this life. She saw many places. The morning of February 9, 2020, Roxy traveled to her heavenly home.

On November 25, 1946, Roxy was the seventh child gifted to Emma and Bernard Brown, of Plum Point, Maryland. Like all little girls, Roxy loved playing make-believe games with her gaggle of cousins, brothers and sisters. Roxy could climb anything! She climbed walls. and trees, and if there had been any mountains, she would have climbed them too!

Roxy graduated with honors and recognition from Brooks High School in 1965. In her senior year, Roxy was nominated and elected by the entire student body as Miss Brooks High School. Being crowned the recipient of this most prestigious award, Roxy embodied all the traits of former titleholders.

Honor. Integrity. Scholarship. Academic Achievement. Leadership. Beauty. And Community Service.

Roxy was extraordinarily bright. Her curiosity was unparalleled. She encouraged us to express our highest intellectual acuity.

She would ask ...
"Is that your best answer?"
"ls that your best effort?"
"ls there another point of view?"

She asked us these questions because she wanted us to become students of life.

God blessed Roxy with a career which enabled her to see the world. As a Corporate Relations Administrator for Alaska and Ethiopia Airlines, she traveled to places one could only dream of. Africa, Asia, Europe, Central and South America, Australia.

She was a political wonk. A "Jeopardy" aficionado.
Roxy didn't just belong to us. She was a peace-loving child of this world.
In heaven. Roxy was greeted by her parents. five sisters and one brother. Carrying forth her memories are her daughter Tiffany (Perriez) and grandson. Tristan; her sister Velma and brothers Dwight and Derrick: her brother-in-law Francis Mack; four nieces, four nephews; her loving cousins, family and friends.
