Obituary for RODNEY LEON HALL
Rodney Leon Hall born on July 12, 1951, also known as "Rolo" departed peacefully on August 25, 2016. He was born to the late Robert Allen and Maebelle Elizabeth Hall, of Jewell, Maryland. He was the fourth child of 11 Siblings in all, seven girls and four boys.
Rodney earned his high school diploma in 1969 at Southern High School, Harwood, Md. As a young adult he attended The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, and was baptized in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Rolo, was a strong believer and was a faithful member for many years. Rolo was a loving Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and friend to many. He maintained strong faith during his entire life. He was the proud father of five beautiful children. He loved his children whole heartedly and always spoke very highly of them.
Rodney was blessed and talented in many job capabilities, such as home improvements and carpentry. He worked with Levitte Construction, Walter's Builders, T&M Builders, Spriggs Construction, and J.R. Smith Builders in his earlier years. He also worked on many construction projects with his special friends.
Rolo formerly of Lothian, Md moved to Forestville Md in 2008. He was a diehard Redskins fan. He was a regular attendee of the local country baseball teams and he loved watching baseball games. He was an avid lover of the "oldies but goodies music. He enjoyed his home cooked meals especially "soul food." His favorite past time was to fellowship with family and friends including engaging in card games and celebrating the Superbowl. A few of his favorite sayings was "a-r-right" with the famous "thumbs up response". He was well thought of by many and loved by all.
After his diagnosis in late April 2015. He willingly complied with all of the Physicians' recommendations for treatment without any hesitation or complaints. If asked how he was doing it was always "thumbs up and a smile." He showed us how to go through a challenge with humility. He loved his Gospel music and Bar B Q cookouts given by his sister Pamela. He touched each of his sister's heart. All of his family was happy to do all they could to love support and pray with him during his most challenging time.
Rolo loved being spoiled by his sisters watching them having heated discussions about him(smile). He would shake his head and smile with a "thumbs up". He was a very strong survivor even the doctor was shocked that he was still walking and carrying on as his usual self despite his medical reports. Although he was in pain according to the Doctor, you would never have known it by his reactions. He took his sickness gracefully with no complaints. His oldest daughter Kyvia along with her siblings had great concern during his illness and transition.
Despite his medical condition Rolo renewed his relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He remained encouraged and yearned for scripture readings and prayer time in the midst of his battle.
