Obituary for ROBERT A. CAMPBELL
Robert Augustus Campbell, the son of the late Thomas Campbell and Hattie King Campbell, was born on April 23, 1940. On July 21, 2018 God sent down his angels and brought his precious child home.
Robert received his education from Calvert County Public Schools. After he graduated from William Sampson Brooks High School, he served in the United States Army. After serving his term, he became a member of the American Legion Post 220 and later was inducted into the Masons.
He was joined in matrimony to Dorothy Mae Titus on September 11, 1965. From this union, he became father to Sheila, Thomas and Angela. He was a loving husband of 53 years and a strong provider for his family.
His employment included working at the Calvert County Nuclear Power Plant, David Gray & Son and Russell Reid Construction.
Robert attended St. Edmonds United Methodist Church where he was part of their Music Ministry as a guitarist. He played for all their choirs, to include the United Methodist Men, which was near and dear to his heart, as well as the Patuxent United Methodist Men and the Plum Point United Methodist Men.
Robert was affectionately known as Bob and Bill by his closest family and friends. He enjoyed watching Sanford & Son, Daytona 500 car racing and car restoration shows.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife Dorothy; three children: Sheila Peppins, Thomas Creek and Angela Titus; one son-inlaw: Vincent Peppins; five grandchildern: Tamara, Thomas, Jonathan, Taren and Trinity; three great grandchilden: Dashaun, Sadie and Jace. He also leaves behind five sisters: Betty Carter (Robert), Hattie Scott, Ursala Campbell, Patricia Washington (Terrance) and Violet Campbell; seven sister-in-Laws: Phillis Claggett (John-Deceased), Erie Campbell (Frank-Deceased), Ilene Campbell (William-Deceased), Mary Middleton (Edward) & (John Campbell-Deceased); four brother-inlaws: John Titus (Helen), Ronald Titus (Joan), Larry Titus (Tasha); mother-in-law: Eloise Titus (Benjamin Titus, Sr.-Deceased); special friends: English Gray and Larry Jones and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother: Thomas Campbell and Hattie King Campbell; six brothers: Thomas, William, George, James, John and Frank (Robert is the last of the seven boys); grandson: Vincent Peppins, Jr.; two sister-in-laws: Margaret Tucker (Robert Tucker) and Elam Campbell (George, deceased) and brother-in-law: Benjamin Titus, Jr.
