Obituary for RICHARD DALY
Richard M. Daly was born on May 16, 1931 to the late Helen Lucille Awan and James Forrest Daly in Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington D.C.
Richard came to his Arc family on June 2-1, 1982. His first residence with The Arc Southern Maryland was Barstow which he shared with two others who became his friends and extended family. While living at Barstow, Richard attended The Arc’s day program and he became very skilled at the trade of making crab pots to be used by area watermen.
Richard later moved a bit further north to the Arc's home in Dunkirk, MD, where he lived with his friends until bis recent passing. For years Richard was supported daily by Ms. Daisy Sewell.
Richard loved going out with Ms. Daisy! They kept a busy social calendar, attending many area events and functions. Richard could often be found socializing with friends at Calvert Pines, or dining out on the town. He loved his Arc family who cherished him as well. Some of the happiest shared memories were created at The Arc's annual picnic, holiday parties, award ceremonies and many other events.
Richard will always be remembered as a sweet soul and a man of few words. If you hear someone mentioning "Peter Rabbit," think of Richard, as that was something he did say often.
Richard peacefully entered eternal rest on Tuesday March 19, 2019 at the Calvert Health Hospital.
Richard will be dearly missed and leaves to cherish his many memories, his family at The Arc, especially past and present staff in Dunkirk, and of course his housemates, Corey Mackall, Frank Harris and Daniel O'ToolP.
