Obituary for PHYLLIS MARIE WALLACE
Phyllis Marie (Chapman) Wallace, 53, of Owings, MD passed away on June 17, 2010 at home.
Phyllis Marie (Chapman) Wallace was born on December 5, 1956 in Prince George's County, Maryland. She was educated in the Prince George's County School system and attended Prince George's Community College.Phyllis was employed by the University Of Maryland Athletics Department, and previously with Colonial Insurance Company. She received numerous outstanding awards during her work including recipient of the Honoree M Club Award.She accepted Christ early in life and recommitted her life after the passing of her father (Leroy Chapman). She was currently attending Zion Church.Phyllis was united in Holy Matrimony on February 14, 1979 to Irving Wallace and was blessed with two children.Phyllis enjoyed being with her children (Jamie and Jenell), and her grandson (Noah). She enjoyed traveling, shopping, dancing, cooking, exercising and family gatherings.During her blessed life, Phyllis enjoyed traveling across the United States and to different Islands. Her most recent trip to Jamaica in 2008 with her sisters gave her an opportunity to spend time with family and see the beautiful beaches that she loved to visit. During that visit, Phyllis built enough courage to get on the Jet Ski and climb Dunn's River Falls.Phyllis was preceded in death by her father; Leroy Chapman, her mother; Catherine Wright, step-father; Owen Wright, one brother; Michael Chapman, one sister; Mabel Kressley, father-in-law; John Wallace, and brother-in-law; Merton Wallace.Phyllis leaves a legacy of love and laughter, cherish memories will be kept by her loving husband (Irving), two children Jamie and Jenell, one grandson Noah, step-mother Francis Chapman, mother-in-law, Georgia Wallace, six sisters, Linda (Thirl), Joyce Ann (Harold), LaVerne (Mac), Wanda (Melvin), Jacqueline (Stewart), Tonya (Thomas), three brothers, Stephen, Lester and Wayne, one Uncle Charles, one Aunt Elsie, two brother-in-laws, Freddie and Bobby. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who shared her life.
