Obituary for PAMELA RANDALL
In the early morning of January 3, 2018 God saw you getting tired so He called you to come home to rest. Pamela Mason Randall was born December 30, 1955 to the late Ruth Janey Mason and George Emory Mason. Pam was the youngest of 5 daughters. Surprisingly, her mother would call to wish her a Happy Birthday the day after; Ha! Ha! and that would make Pam think?
She was educated in the Calvert County Public School System. In 1966, the first year of integration in Calvert County, all 6th graders attended Brooks High School; she later went on to graduate from Calvert High School in 1973.
She met Michael Lee Randall Sr. in the 6th grade and they dated after they graduated High School; which led to them marrying in 1982. From this union they had 3 children, Erica, Michael Jr., and Edwin.
Pamela worked for Arbitron as a data processor/computer operator for many years, until the company downsized. Around 1994 she was diagnosed with Lupus but she never let that stop her, she was a true fighter and warrior until the very end. She loved her family and loved her church ministries: She was a member of Wards Memorial United Methodist church for over 30+ years. During her membership there she served as; a member of the Board of Trustees, Church Council Chairperson, Usher, and Usher Secretary, Jr. Supervisor for the Ushers of Calvert County, Vice President of the Ushers, I.C.U. Member with the Ushers, President of the United Methodist Women of Wards Memorial UMC, and also the President of the Eastern District Cluster of the United Methodist Women, Vacation Bible School Instructor, Youth Choir Director, and Sunday School Instructor. She left a lasting impression either with her cooking, her testimonies, or her daily walk with God. She loved testifying about how good God was to her, and how He allowed her to see another day in spite of her illness.
She enjoyed cooking and her pets, Teddy and Diamond, and a host of stray cats that she would often find and feed. She also loved watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Westerns, Perry Mason, Charlie Chapman, putting together puzzles, collecting baskets, and attending all events centered on her grandbabies and children.
Though the youngest of 5, she helped raise her nieces and nephews. She was a second mother to many and always volunteered at the school even when her children no longer attended. She was always willing to give of her time to others, even when she wasn't feeling her best; she still wouldn't let you know it. The list could go on and on about her acts of kindness, her love for others, and her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Michael Sr., children Erica (Ricardo), Michael (Michelle), and Edwin (Erin), sister Velma, sister-in-law Cathy, brothers-in-law, Charles Jr. and Robert Sr., grandchildren, Elijah, Jeremiah, Alivia, Isaiah, Xavier, Zaria, and Alyas and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She is proceeded in death by her parents George Emory and Ruth Mason, sisters, Shirley, Susan, and Mary Lou, In-Laws Charles Sr. and Laura Randall.
Pamela wanted to be remembered like a turtle: "Hard on the outside, soft on the inside, and willing to stick out her neck”. (Author Dick Gregory)
