Obituary for Ollie Johnson

Ollie  Nathaniel Johnson, 78 of Prince Frederick, MD, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Calvert County Nursing Center.He was born Friday, July 11, 1930 in Calvert County,  MD to the late James Johnson and the late Sidonia Parker Commodore.  He was educated in Calvert County Public Schools.  In October 1954, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1956.  Upon returning from the military, he was employed by Baltimore Gas and Electric Company.  He ended his employment career as a carpenter for Swinging Doors.Ollie was a member of the Greater Bible Way Church and later attended Brooks United Methodist Church.  He was a faithful member of the American Legion Gray-Ray Post #220.  He enjoyed several hobbies, namely, fishing, hunting, and carpentry.He was preceded in death by his father, James Johnson and his wife, Ollie Johnson, mother, Sidonia Commodore and her husband, Winchester Commodore; one stepdaughter, Mabel Lee; a sister, Lucille Sharps and brother-in-law, Vernon Sharps.He is survived by one daughter, Dorisa Johnson, six sons, Melvin Jones (Deidre), Douglas Johnson (Letitia), Paul Parker (Velvet), James Johnson (Melissa), Oliver Johnson, and Gregory Johnson; a sister, Coral Lee Smith (Leon); two brothers-in-law, Louis Waul (Thelma) and Walter Waul (Celeste); eighteen grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
