Obituary for NAKIA CRYSTAL WALLACE
Nakia Crystal Wallace affectionately known as 'Kia' was born at Providence Hospital in Northeast Washington, D.C. on September 26, 1986 to Lawanna Beverly Wallace (passed) & Robert Wallace. She was the third of three children making her the youngest child & second baby girl of her immediate family.
Kia spent her early childhood in the Washington, DC & Maryland areas where she attended public schools. She attended Northwestern High School (Class of 2004) located in Hyattsville, MD and excelled in her studies and participated in The Naval Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NJROTC) Academy of Military Science, Flag Team & Gospel Choir.
After graduating, Kia attended TEST Community College and eventually pursued a career as a Massage Therapist and developed her own independent business via Mending Hands Massage Therapy. Kia was well known for her quick and honest advice to both friends and family, always keeping it 'real' but with love and constant laughter. Her unmatched style & fashion sense never changed despite her losing her vision and battling health issues. In fact, these things made her more determined to fight and tackle all challenges in this lift that came her way - always maintaining with grace but doing things her own way.
Nakia was also an aspiring artist displaying her talent via stage name 'Crystal Ki' - she could Sing, Dance & Act! Her angelic vocals and emotional performances revealed to us all that she was a budding 'mega-talent' who always kept God by her side as she pressed on to showcase her talents and forge her lane in music. Over the years, she performed at local events in the DC/MD/VA area.
Nakia's family is tremendously heartbroken by this loss but do also know that she is now in peace and at rest- renewed body & soul. She is now with GOD and her late mother Lawanna. Both now in heaven together- awaiting the return of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Nakia Crystal Wallace was a sweet, precious and giving young woman. Everyone she crossed paths with in this life has felt her angelic spirit. Always leading with grace those who know reflect on her unlimited optimism, positive energy & drive to take on all obstacles. Kia has always give advice with empathy, passion & truth for those of have sought her as a listening ear. Her dedicated army of friends embody all that we strive for & hold sacred - loyalty to each other in the eyes of God - Brothers & Sisters will one day meet again in the Heavens of Our Lord!
