Obituary for Morgan Lester Jones

Morgan L. "Marvin "Jones, son of the late Norvel and Mildred Jones, was born on October 17, 1950 and departed this life on February 26, 2009 at Calvert Memorial Hospital. Marvin was raised in Calvert County and he attended Calvert County Public schools. After a brief time at home working on the farm, he decided to join the Army where he had a chance to tour the world. Marvin served four years of active duty, then ended his deployment and spent six years in the Reserves. After returning home, he spent some time working for the road commission and later joined the union where he worked several years. Later he joined Calvert Trash Service where he received an employee of the year award for his good service. In the summer of 2007 he married Dorene. Being the loving person that he was, Marvin made sure he took part in all the lives of his nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters and cousins. He was very family oriented Marvin and was a people person. He made friends wherever he went. No one could resist his sly sense of humor and his charm. Marvin leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife Dorene Jones; five brothers: Leon, Cornell, Norvel, Arthur Lee (wife, Thelma), Robert (wife, Dolores); four sisters: Diane Stats (husband, Jessie), Cynthia Hawkins (husband, Orverton), Patricia Gray, and Marchelle Jones; three sisters-in-law: Ruthie, Joann, and Pam Jones; two adopted daughters: Reba Adams and Lette Willett; two stepsons and four step-grandchildren; father-in-law and good friend, Raymond Holland; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends and co-workers. Marvin's sister, the late Laverne Jones preceded him in death.
