Obituary for Mary Rose Giles

Mary Rose Giles, 89 of Huntingtown, MD, died Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Calvert Memorial Hospital.She was born Friday, April 25, 1919 to the late Hardy Mackall and the late Rosie Brooks. She was educated and reared in Calvert County. In the early 30's, she exchanged wedding vows with Joshua Giles and was blessed with one son. Mother Giles was baptized in the early 50's and became a member of Little Rehoboth Church now known as Calvary United Apostolic Church.In 1973, she joined her son, the founder and Pastor of Bethel Apostolic Church-Yeshua the Messiah in Bowie, MD.She was an extremely hard worker. To make ends meet, she farmed on her land and worked for the Board of Education. Mary Rose made a strong impact while providing loving care to foster children and she was a long time Adult Home Care Provider prior to her illness.She loved all people and helped them whenever she could. She loved to talk, play the piano, eat, shop, and admiring her beauty in the mirror. She also loved singing her favorite hymn "Nearer My god to Thee."She was preceded in death by her late husband, Joshua Giles, three sisters, Ollie Ayers, Mammie Reid, and Mable Hawkins and nine brothers, Leroy, Lawrence, Allen, Joseph, Ridgely, Vernon, Estep, Elmer and Wilford Mackall.Surviving are her son, Elder Melvin Giles; a devoted daughter-in-law, Margaret Giles; five grandchildren, Joyce Hawkins, Odesea Hall, Melvin, Jr., Dwight, and Rodney Giles; two sisters-in-law, Hilda and Betty Mackall; two grandsons-in-law, Charles Hawkins and Herbert Hall; three granddauthers-in-law, Roberta, Juanita, and Cheryl Giles; a great granddaughter-in-law, Aricka Hawkins; eleven great grandchildren, Latisha Eady, Shalitia Hall, Charles Lamond, Sean Hawkins, Dwight Jr., Genia, Eyon, DaJoun, Danika, and Taivon Giles; seven great-great-grandchildren, Cedrick, Aaron, Connor, Kyle, Alyssa Hawkins, Jamari and Ala'jai Davis, and a host of other relatives and friends
