Obituary for MILDRED MARIE HARVEY
Mildred Marie Harvey was born on January 25, 1941 to the late Leonard and Anna Moore of Croome, Md.
She departed this life here on earth on Sunday November 30, 2014 at Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Frederick Md.
Mildred was raised on a farm in Croome, in which is now known as Rosaryville State Park. She had many great childhood stories to tell about "back in the day'' on the farm with her sisters and brothers. She attended Douglas High School in Upper Marlboro and was very active in the marching band.
In 1958 Mildred cross path with Charles Ernest Harvey, fell in love and not long after was joined in Holy Matrimony. In 1962 they move to Sunderland of Calvert County to raise their family. They had six wonderful children that they cherished very much.
Mildred worked for a House keeping establishment in Prince George's County for many years. She truly enjoyed spending time and vacationing with her family. She also was like the neighborhood mom. Everyone would meet at the Harvey's house and the doors were always opening to all and you were sure to enjoy a delicious meal before you departed.
She had many friends and everyone really loved her but her two best friends were her two sisters (Dot and Shirley). She would set in the living room watching those daytime stories with two telephones, one in each hand talking to her sisters. Mildred was a soft spoken lady.
Mildred was a christen woman and a member of Union Bethel Church in P.G. County where she first love the Lord. In the fall of 1993 she attended a woman's Retreat with Union Bethel and rededicated her trust and life with Christ as her personal Savior. She truly believed in the power of prayer. When she could no longer make it to church, do to her illness, Pastor Sandra Smith would visit her at home to minister to her and give Communion. Some of her favorite hymns was; I Don't Feel No Ways Tired; I Bowed To My Knees And Cried Holy and Ride Out The Storm.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Harvey, her daughter Deborah Simms, her parents, Leonard and Anna Moore, three brothers: John, Kenneth and Lewis Moore.
She leaves to cherish her memories, five children: Ernest L. Harvey (Caroline) Hampton, VA; Shirley Holland (Martin) Killeen, TX; Warren Harvey (Starlette) Sunderland, MD. Elston Harvey (Angie) Lexington Park, MD, and Mildred Goldring (Paul) Lusby, MD. Four siblings: Dorothy Hall, James Moore, Shirley Harley, and Larry Moore. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, two sisters- in-law and two brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, neighbors and wonderful friends. Each of you knows how she has touched your hearts.
