Mary L. Wallace, 51, of Port Republic, MD passed away on August 3, 2010 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD.
Mary Lou Wallace, the daughter of Martha Commodore and the late John Commodore, Jr. was born on September 7, 1958 in Calvert County, Maryland. Mary received her education from Calvert County Public Schools. She was a manager at McDonald's. She also worked for Calvert County Public Schools and was a homecare provider.Mary gave her life to God and became a member of The Solid Rock Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. It was her faith in God that blessed her, kept her and sustained her throughout her life, especially during her time of illness.Mary loved the Lord and enjoyed listening to gospel music. Two of her favorite songs were Jesus Stood by Andre Jones and Rise Above It All. She was a very humble woman, but her presence had a tremendous impact on those who came in contact with her.Mary will always be remembered by her family and friends as a woman who was full of life and always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Even during her illness, she would frequently call others to check on them. Mary loved children and prior to her illness, she was always there to assist family members with their childcare needs and never hesitated when called upon.She was preceded in death by her father, John Commodore, Jr. and sister-in-law, Teresa Tyler.Mary leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Samuel Lee Wallace, Sr.; three sons, Dexter, Gary, and Samuel, Jr.; her great niece and daughter she never had, Anaiya; her mother, Martha Commodore; eight grandchildren, Brianna, Aleyah, Jailah, Donovan, Danasia, DaQuan, Elijah, and Naishawn; one daughter-in-law, Shanell Mason; sisters, Shirley Waul, Rosilee Commodore, Violet Stewart, Alicelee Commodore, Bertina Hawkins, Virta Commodore, Juanita Harrod, and Brenda Jones; brothers, Robert, Alvin, Obbie, Freddie, and Glenn Commodore; four sister-in-laws, Ruth Weems, Darlene Hutchins, Sheila Tyler, and Linda Commodore; six brother-in-laws, Frankie Wallace, Robert Lee Wallace, Woodrow Wallace, Jr., George Harrod, Jr., Daniel Jones, and George Hawkins; three uncles, Walter, Louis, and Edward Waul; one aunt, Rosemary Johnson; one great aunt, Maggie Rice; special friends, Gail Brown, Myra Beverly, Gloria Jennifer, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
