Obituary for MARY LOU HAWKINS
Mary Lou Hawkins was born on Saturday, October 19, 1957 in Annapolis, MD to the late George Thomas and Lillian Creek. She entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at her home in Prince Frederick, MD.
Having been raised by her mother and grandparents, Arthur and Elsie Creek, at a young age Mary understood the importance of education and having a strong work ethic. She graduated from Southern High School in Harwood, MD and went on to work in the grocery industry for over 27 years at Giant Food.
Mary loved the Lord and was proud to profess her love for our Savior Jesus Christ and was baptized in His name.
She was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend, who was known for her kind heart, generosity, and dependableness. While Mary enjoyed spending time with all of her family, she shared a close bond with her aunt Annie Creek and cousin Lucille Creek. She also had an undeniable love for the children in her family, often spoiling them with the toys and gadgets. In her spare time, Mary loved playing bingo, spending her time at Rod 'N' Reel in Chesapeake Beach, MD. She was witty, fun loving, and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Mary leaves to cherish and share her memories, loving siblings; George Thomas (Shirley), John Thomas (Christine), Thelma Thomas, and Sharon Posey (Allen Sr.); stepsons, Wilson Hawkins Jr., Malcolm Hawkins, and Marvin Hawkins (Natashela); sister-in-law, Peggy Hawkins; brothers-in-law, Melvin Hawkins (Bonnie), Floyd Hawkins, and Charles Hawkins (Joyce); godson, Allen Posey Jr. (Crystal); and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and caring friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Hawkins; parents; father-in-law, Overton Hawkins; sister-in-law, Ivon Brooks; and brothers-in-law, Overton Hawkins, Carlton Hawkins.
