Obituary for MARY ELIZABETH WILLS
Mary Elizabeth Wills was born on November 26, 194l to
the late Lena Adams Reed and Arthur Hall. She quietly
departed this life on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Gilchrist
Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Elizabeth (as she was affectionately known by family and
friends) was educated in the Prince George's County Public
Schools in Upper Marlboro, Maryland and graduated from
Frederick Douglas High School.

On October 4, 1963, Elizabeth was united in holy
matrimony to Syrelius Wills, Jr. and out of this union three
children were born: Susan (Sue), William E, and Dana
(deceased).

At an early age, Elizabeth attended Union United Methodist
Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland with her mother and
siblings. After moving to Calvert County, she joined Wards
Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a
member of the Senior Choir, United Methodist Women,
Bible Study, volunteered with various committees, and
remained faithful until her illness prevented her from
attending.

Elizabeth was first employed with the Prince Georges
County School System. She transferred to the Calvert
County School System where she worked for 33+ years at
Beach and Windy Hills Elementary Schools. While
employed at these schools Elizabeth received several
awards, pins, certificates and acknowledgements for her
dedication to public education and the youth of Calvert
County, and for her superior work from the principals,
teachers and students.

Elizabeth loved being around family. She was a soft-spoken,
kind hearted and giving person. Her hobbies were
watching old western movies; travelling with her mother-in-law,
Ida Elizabeth Wills, and friend, Pamela Randall, to
various churches and stores; gardening (flowers); and the
most memorable were trips to the Dutch County in
Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving parents, Lena
Adams Reed and Arthur Hall; husband, Syrelius Wills, Jr.;
son, Bobbie Adams; daughter, Dana Wills; sister, Georgia
Blake; sisters-in-law, Miriam and Claudia Wills, and Alice
Davis; brothers-in-law, Charles Rawlings, Anthony Wills,
James Davis, James Tucker; and Special Friend, George
Roberts.

Elizabeth leaves her legacy of love and fond memories to be
cherished by her children, Susan Whitlow (Roosevelt) and
William E. Wills; daughter-in-law, Lenora Adams; 5
granddaughters, Justina, Brittni, Nikki, Tia, Angel; several
great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Tucker; brother, Walter
Reed (Juanita); brothers-in law, Herbert Blake, Isaac (Ellen)
and Woodrow Wills; sisters-in-law, Barbara Williams,
Helen Wills and Faye Hinton; special friends, Rev. Joan
Jones and Tim Hinton; and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends.

Remembering Elizabeth's expressed words: "Stop worrying
about me, I'm in God's Hands."
