Obituary for MARY A. BELL

Mary Alice Bell (Momma) departed this life on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at South River Health and Rehabilitation Center in Edgewater, Maryland.

Mary was born July 5, 1920 to the late John and Elmira Moreland. She was the oldest daughter of eight children. She attended Anne Arundel County Public Schools. She was married to the late Clarence Bell and out of that union they had five children. After the passing of her husband, love found Mary again when she met the late Charles Neal. And from that union they welcomed a son into the world.

Mary was no stranger to work. She was employed by both Anne Arundel and Prince George's County school districts, and also led various jobs in her lifetime.

Despite working hard, Mary never let that stop her from being close to her family and friends. Mary's presence filled those around her with joy. She loved and was loved by everyone. Mary was a devout Christian, and continued to keep her relationship with God strong throughout her 93 years. Her favorite gospel song is "Yes My Jesus cares" and she exuded the same caring nature throughout her life. She enjoyed all the pleasures of life, from watching her favorite TV shows, to indulging her love of food. She even loved to travel. Mary tried to live her life to the fullest the best way she could.

Like many of us, Mary's life, although blessed was not free of hard times. Before she reached the end of her time, Mary endured the loss of her 3 sons, Thomas, Earnest, and Calvin Bell. In this time she drew upon the strength of her God, and the family and friends that stood by her through these times.

Mary lived her life with passion; she didn't come from a world of "No". If she desired something she fought for it, and she never gave up without a fight. That same passion for life she left with her family. She leaves her 2 daughters Agnes Johnson (William-deceased); Virginia Freeland (Robert); her son Wayne Neal (Areila); her 2 sisters Bessie Watkins and Inez Royster; her host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
