Obituary for MARGARET LAROSE JONES

Margaret LaRose Jones was born the oldest of six children to the late Benjamin “Benny” and Dorothy Jones on March 26, 1939, in Prince Frederick, MD. She departed this life on Thursday, May 14, 2020.
She was born with multiple disabilities including being blind, but her other senses were heightened beyond most. She could recognize who you were by the sound of your footsteps, your voice and by your touch. The odds were stacked against her from birth, many doctors stated that she would not live past 3 years old. Well, that wasn’t true, thanks be to God! Sista, as she was known by her family, lived in Huntingtown until 1994. She moved to Waldorf, MD to the facility of Spring Dell Center where she lived until May 14, 2020.
Some of her favorite foods included mac n’ cheese, rice pudding, cake, ice cream, cinnamon twist, scrambled eggs, and scrapple. Also, fruitcake, pork n’ beans, hotdogs, Pepsi, Kool Aid, peach pie, cornflakes and water. She enjoyed Gospel music, one of her favorite songs was “Yes Jesus Loves Me”. As well as, pinching anyone she could reach, The Lord’s Prayer, her Mother’s cooking, and her Mother and Daddy’s unconditional love. There was a special bond with her sister, Novena Vashti Jones Gross, who acted as her second mom.
She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin “Benny” and Dorothy Jones, her brothers John William Jones and Timothy O’Brien Jones.
Left to continue her legacy and cherish her memory her brother Sidney Leroy Jones (Cynthia), sister Novena Vashti Gross (Late Irvin), sister Robin Lynn Holland (George), brother/uncle Vernon “Butch” Jones (Sylvia). Nieces and nephews: Ronnie, Twanda, Renada, Keith, Shannon, Trina, Sidney, Jr., LaTisha, America and Tiffany. And a host of other family members.
