Obituary for Leroy Commodore

Leroy Commodore Jim Polk departed this life Monday January 7, 2008 in Edgewater, MD.  He was born September 4, 1919 to the late Harry Commodore Sr and Nettie Gross. Leroy attended Calvert Countys public schools.  He was married to the Late Myrtle Carr.  Leroy served in World War II as a member of the United States Army.  He was honorably discharged on November 4, 1946, where he then took employment as a cement finisher until his retirement. Leroy was a loving man.  He always had a quick response to everything that was sure to make you laugh.  He also loved to watch television and eat his Milky Way candy bars. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons:  Oscar Commodore (Helen) and Dorsey Commodore (Lillie); and one Daughter:  Elsie Chew;  three brothers Abraham Gantt (Emma), Thomas Commodore (Edwardine), and Harry Commodore (Edith); two sisters: Patsy Tyler and Julie Underwood; eight grandchildren: Eric Commodore, Cindy Commodore, Darnell Commodore, Leonard Harrod, Patrick Chew, Paul Chew, Patricia Johnson, Deanna Chew; Twenty three great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; special nephew and niece: George and Valerie Carr; and host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
