Obituary for LLOYD R. A. FORD

Lloyd R. A. Ford, 65, of Dunkirk, MD passed away on January 23, 2010 at Chesapeake Shores Nursing Home, Lexington Park, MD. Lloyd Robert Allen Ford was born December 29, 1944 to the late Parran and Margaret Ford.
Bob as we called him had three daughters from his marriage to Jeannette Hall Ford, Barnadette, preceded him in death; Faye and Angelique. Later in life born to him was Shenida, Inez and Rosyln; Stepsons Cornell and Patrick Giles. He was happy when the children and grandchildren came to visit. He attended elementary school in Dunkirk on the site of his childhood church (Coopers United Methodist Church). Later he attended Mt. Hope Elementary School. He attended Brooks High School where he fell in love with sports. One of his greatest loves was playing baseball. Bob played for a while on the Dunkirk baseball team but later gave it up. Bob also loved to play the guitar and piano.
Bob had many hobbies just to name a few, carving objects out of wood. He also loved gardening but his favorite was joking and teasing people. He enjoyed that the most. He loved talking about family history to family members especially his sisters Lillie, Cecelia, Aunt Lillian and his Aunt Hattie. He also loved talking about old times with his cousin and friend Kinsey.
Bob had a close relationship with his baby sister Louise who stuck by him until the end. (We all stuck close to him).He would always encourage the younger generation, his nephews and nieces, to pursue their dreams. He was a fun person to have around. He would have us laughing about how hard it was working on the farm and getting up with the cows, but he still loved to work and would give you his last dollar if you needed it. Bob was a hard worker.
He worked for Levitt and Sons (Home Builders) and for many department stores, but he loved doing insulation. During his final years he worked for the Metro Transit. Bob also worked for Calvert County School (Northern High School).Special love for: Porcia, Jenny and Kathy and his Godson (BJ) Berry. He leaves to celebrate his life, Brothers: James and wife Ann, Calvert, Samuel, Charles and wife Martha; Sisters Cecelia, Lillie, Florence and Louise. Children; Faye, Angelique, Shenida, Inez and Rosyln and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, families, great special Aunt Mary and a special friend.
