Obituary for LILLIE MAE COMMODORE
Lillie Mae Waul, daughter of the late District Elder Walter Wall Sr. and Mother Thelma Wall, was born on March 23, 1944 in Calvert County Maryland. She departed this life on March 22, 2018 at the Calvert Nursing Center in Prince Frederick, MD. Just one day prior to her 74th birthday, Lillie was called home to be with the Lord.
She attended Calvert County Public Schools. Lillie was brought up in church and attended the Greater Bible Way Church in Prince Frederick, MD under the late Bishop Henry H. Brown and the late Apostle Joseph N. Brown DD. She served her final days under the leadership of Pastor Neil Gross and Co-pastor Delethian Gross. On June 25, 1962, Lillie was united in Holy Matrimony to Dorsey Commodore. God blessed them with one son, Leonard Darnell. They were married for over 50 years.
Lillie was a great wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a child of the most-high God. She always was a cheerful person who made you smile and laugh. Lillie's passion for cooking and baking turned into her own business named, “Lillie's Catering Service." She worked at the Dorsey Gray car dealership. However, the majority of Lillie's career was spent as a caregiver. She worked with the Gay Tall agency for many years throughout various counties in Maryland as a caregiver. She also worked for Mr. Tom Axley and was a household technician for Bishop and Mother Pearlie Brown. Lillie held several positions at the Greater Bible Way Church, which included being a Field Missionary, Matron, Choir Member, Choir Director, Helping Hand member and Head Cook of the kitchen. Many of us have had the pleasure of enjoying Lillie's fried chicken, raisin dumplings, rice pudding and bread pudding. Lillie enjoyed spending time with her family whom she loved very much. She enjoyed singing gospel songs to others which her favorites were “Step by Step We Will Make This Journey” and ''I'll Fly Away”.
She was preceded in death by her father District Elder Walter Wall Sr. and Mother Thelma Wall and Sister, Sylvia McClain and Uncles: John Commodore, John Wall and Joe Wall, Louis Waul, Woodrow Sr., Winsco "Dickie", Cephas; Aunts: Ruth, Blanche, Susie, Hattie, Carrie, Annie and Vertie Wall.
