Obituary for LEON STANLEY JOHNSON
Leon Stanley Johnson was born on February 27, 1946 to Elsie Marie Johnson Kent in Calvert County MD. He peacefully departed this life on February 14, 2017. Leon known as "Lee", was a blessed father whom gave his life to Christ on November 9, 2012. Jesus blessed him to become a father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and a friend; whom felt he must speak the truth to others. Leon was educated in the public schools in Calvert County, MD.
Jesus blessed him the opportunity to have served in the Army, he was also blessed the opportunities and pleasures of building cars, he was a carpenter, and a mechanic. When he worked he put his everything into it (perfection). Leon was a blessing and an inspiration to the family. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his children, and friends. He loved watching the westerns with his Aunt Gertie and enjoying her company. He especially loved watching the English movies while at home. He enjoyed in the spring and summer riding his bike and stopping by chatting with Ms. Marnette and Marlene Stewart, and Woody Buck. Back in the day, Leon loved dancing, singing, and making people smile.
Leon leaves to cherish his memories: 7 children, Tony Johnson (Pamela), Stacy Lee (Jeffery), Deidre Johnson, Sidney Johnson (Nina), Leon Johnson, Jr. (Kristle), Nicole Johnson, and Ver'Nita Debraux; parent, Elsie Kent; a brother: Earl Johnson; 7 sisters, Doraine Harris (Henry), Regina Plater (Elsworth), Barbara Butler, Sharon King, Denise l. Kent, Rita Kent, Melissa Kopyto; special aunt/best friend: Gertrude Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews, grand and great grandchildren, family, and friends. Jesus truly blessed him to have had the opportunity to have had so many special friends and family: William Josephus Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Smith and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Rowell, Eugene and Darwin Johnson, Elwood Buck, Delvon Gantt, Tony Hampton, Robin Buck, Stanley Thomas, Terrell White, Larry Jefferson, Richard Parker, and so many more; and a very special classmate, Pat Bishop.
