Obituary for KEVIN MOREY JONES

Kevin Morey Jones was born May 13, 1966 in Prince Frederick, Maryland to the late Charles Arthur Jones & Dolores Jeanette Graham Jones. His siblings of that union were Wayne, Robin, Charles, Paula, Eric, Stephen, & Corey Jones.
He began his education in the Calvert County Public School Systems and later transferred to Washington Lee High School, Arlington, VA where he received his High School diploma. Kevin’s work ethics initiated in his father’s business. He developed skills such as brick laying and concrete finishing. Later in life, he worked for his brother Eric Jones as a carpenter & truck driver with Amish Craftman. Eventually, he joined International Teamsters Union as a CDL tractor-trailer & truck driver. Finally, he acquired the skills of roof laying with his friend Dexter Ford.
Kevin had a remarkable personality that drew a host of additional family & friends. To name a few – Donovan Harper, Amber Jones, Lori-Ann Harper, Yasmin (Kim) McCloud (Guardian Angel), Dexter Ford, Robin Miller, Marilyn Jones (Sister/ Caregiver), Erica White, Clarissa Brooks (Dearest Friend), Carolyn Davis, Linda Jackson, Lisa Lane, Gerald Keemer, Junior & Stacy Spriggs, James Turner (Lambchop), The Freeland Family, The Ijams Family, The Long Family, The Plater Family, and The Spriggs Family.
In Kevin’s childhood years he played football for the Prince Frederick Eagles. His position was running back, alongside his brother Darryl who played defensive end. His passion for football increased as he played running back for Calvert High School’s Varsity team. Kevin’s athleticism never went unnoticed on the field. He strived to be the best. In order to be the best – he trained like the best. He spent hours in the gym weightlifting. He often dreamed of becoming an NFL player, playing for the Dallas Cowboys (his favorite team).
One day while Kevin was in Virginia, he was at the Cora-Kelly Gym. There, his eyes fell upon the beautiful, Janiece James!! He was fascinated by her beauty. Kevin returned home & told his guardian angel “Kim” that he found the love of his life! He told her he had to get a car so he could date this beautiful young lady!! One day, Kevin came to the Jones Family Reunion, introducing Janiece to his parents and family. Shortly after Kevin & Janiece entered Holy Matrimony August 1, 1997. He Married the love of his life!! From that union, Kevin became the Stepfather of Joseph Smith. Janiece & Joe often visited Kevin’s Family Home. It was a delight when Neicy’s parents came with their camper and just enjoyed that old home setting in the woods! We named Grandma’s House “The House of Ruth” where you could receive God’s given comfort and love!
Football wasn’t the only sport Kevin enjoyed. He was a class act tennis player & bowler along with his nephew (Jerald Harris, Jr). Every time they spoke to each other, it was always the battle of who was the better athlete. Kevin also enjoyed fishing with his brothers, cousins & friends. They traveled throughout the east coast catching a variety of fish for numerous family occasions. Like father & son, Kevin also enjoyed drag racing no matter what location he was in. Finally, let’s not forget about his fashion statements. Nobody could out dress Kevin when he wore his three-piece suits!! Kevin was a great individual, but like so many others, he had his downfalls. Kevin struggled with addiction and whoredom throughout his life.
Due to difficult times, he & Janiece decided to separate. Of course, “Mr. He Man” himself continued to have children. Kevin became the father of Taylor (his first born), Nicholas (second), Houston (third), and Kimori Jones (the youngest). While Kevin’s family increased, so did the love between him & Janiece! They rekindled their love & opened the doors to their children.
One day, God CALLED Kevin by His Spirit to the Water to be Baptized by HIM! As he entered the pool for his baptism, we saw the waters stand high on both sides!! As he went down in the Water to be buried, the Waters lapped over him. God tilted Kevin’s head & looked in the Water. Then, the eyes of Kevin’s soul opened! He Became a Living Soul! Surely, God parted the Red Sea & pushed the Jordan back!!!
When Kevin dressed himself & came before us, his words were “This is a Secret!” Surely this is a Secret – the truth of Salvation has Come for the soul!
Eventually, Kevin returned to his addictive & whoredom ways. Despite Kevin returning to his old ways, he often said “I love the Lord & I don’t want my soul to go to hell.” God remembering his youth, came and visited Kevin in the hospital. His entrance was – Who side are you leaning on – are you leaning on the Lord side. Jesus by His Spirit walked to his bed and started telling the truth about Salvation. How God waited on Noah to finish the ark and God had no problem with destroying man for his disobedience. He talked to him about how the faithful held on though there was corruption found in them and why Abraham’s bosom held the blessed till Christ came for their deliverance. To name a few of the old – Adam, Noah, David, Abraham, Sarah, Samson, and Samuel. They all went down and could not rise from death because God saw corruption. BUT, The Blood makes the difference and Christ was the first to Rise! Sister Julia Freeland read, “Surely He’ll keep His Word.” Sister Dolores Jones said, “I am so Grateful to have Christ in my life - What would life be without Him - It would be dark & dreary.” Brother Jones said, “The poor man cried & the Lord heard him. The Lord will make a way somehow.” Sister Ruth Graham said, “Behold the Preacher.” No corruption was found when God looked down into Jesus’s grave! And in this day, the Blood, the Water, and the Spirit makes the difference by the Call of God – Birthing Souls for Eternal Life into Heaven. Kevin’s soul received the Word & moved by the His Spirit!! On the Morning of his passing, the flesh of his body laid on his bed - his Soul went on with Death into Eternity!!! Who did this, not man, only God!! Jesus Christ Our Lord!!!!!!!!!!!
