GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Joseph Linwood Johnson was born August 8, 1966 in Calvert County, Maryland. He was the youngest of eight children born to Maude (Johnson) Mahoney and the late Charles E. Johnson. He was blessed with a loving stepfather, James Mahoney.
Joseph received his education in the Calvert County Public School System. He graduated from Calvert Senior High School in 1985. As a young man Joseph worked as a construction laborer.
Joseph life was full of love and joy; he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. One of his favorite pass times was watching Reverend K.C. Price. Joseph was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and loved watching football games. He was a very quiet, compassionate, gentle and kind person, always willing to help others. As his illness and discomfort began to increase, rarely if ever would you hear him complain.
He departed this life on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Calvert Health Medical Center in Calvert County.
Joseph was preceded in death by his sister Beverly Long and three nieces Shante' Weems, Sonya Mackall and Charmine Owens.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved mother, Maude Mahoney; devoted stepfather, James Mahoney; five sisters, Phyllis Dyson, Barbara Wiseman, Joe Ida Contee, Virginia Horne and Blanche Johnson; one brother, Charles Johnson; brother-law, Howard Long; special friend Valerie Greene; and three kids that he loved as his very own Deborah, Earl and Nathaniel Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
