Obituary for JERRY MATHEW MEDLEY
Jerry Mathew Medley was called home on September 30th, 2018. Jerry was born on February 3rd, 1964 to Claude and Pauline (deceased) Medley in Leonardtown, MD. Jerry was affectionately known to family and friends as “Jay”. He was the second of seven children. Jerry was educated in the St. Mary’s County School System and graduated from Leonardtown High School in 1982. Jerry loved doing mechanic work and worked for Jack Mattley for 20 years before he became ill.
Jerry met Barbara Collins-Medley and were together for thirteen years. On July 6th, 2007 Jerry and Barbara exchanged vows and were married for 11 years.
Jerry accepted Christ on April 1, 2018 at Bethel way of the Cross of Christ under leadership of Bishop Darnell L. Easton, Senior Pastor. Jerry attend new member classes until August 2018 when he became sick and unable to continue to attend the classes.
Jerry loved hanging out with his friends and working on cars with his brothers and father. Jerry loved family time he would watch movies, playing games with his wife and daughter. Over the years him and his wife would travel, that was one of his most favorite things to do. Two of his favorite places to go was Virginia Beach and Williamsburg.
Jerry leaves to cherish his memory. His loving and devoted wife Barbara Collins-Medley, one daughter Dominique Collins-Johnson, and father Claude Medley. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother Pauline Agnes Medley, brothers Terry Medley, and Mark Medley. Jerry also leaves to cherish his memory; siblings Anthony Holt, Claudette (Donta) Curtis, Darlene (Allen) Milburn, Stacy (Charlie) Johnson, Francis Medley (Tomika), and uncle Charles (Charlotte) Medley, mother-in-law Rosie Lee Collins, sisters-in-law Wendy Collins, Queen Collins, Callie Roberts, Vickie Medley, Patricia Medley, brother-in-law Matthew Collins, Dexter Collins, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
